This group holds listings that did not fit cleanly into a food or drink category, mostly businesses that were pulled in alongside a restaurant in the same shopping plaza or that combine several kinds of service, such as a market with an attached clinic or a strip-mall unit that also does phone repair or tax preparation. The details here come from the public listing rather than a curated food write-up, so treat the category label loosely and check the business's own hours and services before visiting. Some of these are legitimate neighbors of the food businesses on this site, such as a nail salon or a laundromat in the same strip mall, while others are simply miscategorized on the source data and worth a quick call to confirm what they actually offer.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

What a spectacular array of flavors! We loved every dish we got and savored everything. Nothing was spicy, and they accommodated our allergies well (gluten free, carrots and parsley). We got two vegan dishes and one fish dish and one beef dish. The passion fruit soda was absolutely delicious. Such a lovely menu. Just an FYI that they did not have AC in case that is difficult for you. It was hot, I must admit. We still loved everything!

This is the first time I try African cuisine and I hate that it was Baobab Fare because I feel like everything else will not compare. Every single dish I ordered was phenomenal and the portion sizes are insane (coming from a hefty eater). I ordered the appetizer to eat at the restaurant and everything else to go because I wanted to share with my family. I ordered the sambusas, Nyumbani, Kuku, Kumuhana, Mbuzi, Samaki and I got the Shokola for dessert (the nuts are spicy but so good). If youβre looking for something different and unique, I highly recommend you eat here.

We ordered three items and they were all fantastic! Tamu β The combination of avocado and passion fruit was amazing. The sweetness and tartness were perfectly balanced, making it incredibly refreshing. Mbuzi β The slow-roasted goat was outstanding! It was so tender that the meat fell right off the bone, and the flavor was rich and delicious. Samaki β The fish was excellent and had a very unique flavor profile. It felt like a truly special dish that you donβt find everywhere. This was our first visit, and we loved every dish we tried. Great food, great atmosphere, and a wonderful introduction to East African cuisine. Highly recommend!

My lunch here was incredible (March 24-2026) . I had the eggplant and It was so good, and so much, that I got a box to take home half! The flavors were so good that I wanted room for dessert which was simple, but a nice ending (chocolate-coconut mousse with spiced peanuts). I cannot stop thinking about the hot spiced hibiscus drink which came all pretty pink, foamy and delicious. I really want to know the secret to getting that foam (pleeeeassse!!) because it really carried the aroma of the spices well βΒ I came home, bought hibiscus flowers and tried to recreate it, but without success. BOO! One thing I didn't love was that as a single diner (at lunch) the server/host immediately suggested that I sit on a stool in the window. I wish I had said no, and requested a table because there were quite a few available but I know 2-tops can be premium at lunch so I agreed. However, it never got super busy. I don't mind counters, but it meant I was tucked away (my dishes never got cleared, even when I ordered dessert) and had my back to the restaurant (and instead watching a woman having some difficulty in the street) and that took away from my experience. To her credit, the server who origi

Started with an appetizer - Sambusas which is fantastic, and I highly recommend! My wife got the Kuku. She loved the dish. I ordered the Nyumbani. Although I've never had plantains or spinach before, I can say the dish was very delicious! The braised beef is very tender and tomato sauce was great. We both had Ji - the passion fruit juice and shared a desert, the SHOKOLA Y KARANGA and loved it. Great prices for such a highly acclaimed restaurant. Make sure to book it via reservation as it does have limited seating and we saw several folks standing in the doorway to get in.
